ACTIVA Motor Yachts PTY LTD…….was founded out of a
desire by our dealer/principal, Kevin Sulzberger, to produce the finest
cruising yachts possible at a reasonable investment level. Kevin wanted a
vessel that was safe, attractive, luxurious, comfortable, and easily
maintained. He required a level of luxury and finish that would rival the
output of Australian, New Zealand, European and North American production
yards. He was also determined to add the ACTIVA Difference…..a common
sense attitude to life on the water….large entertaining size flybridge not
just a helm station with confined space....wide stairs instead of ladders…wide
companionways instead of tiny unprotected ledges… and more. ACTIVA Motor
Yachts and our company reflect this continuing passion.
After two years of development in conjunction with John Winter the New
Zealand distributor of ACTIVA Motor Yachts, who also had the same vision
as Kevin, and with hull by hull evolution, the company now offers 4
re-designed models and 6 new models of supremely attractive, imminently
liveable cruising yachts ranging from 46 foot to 85 foot. The motor
yachts represent an optimum balance between style and function. Their
traditional lines belay a thoroughly modern construction pedigree.
In the US and Europe the motor yachts built by ACTIVA Marine of China are
sold under the ALTIMA and HISTAR brand names. The Australian and New
Zealand motor yachts are designed and built to different specifications to
the US and European models and are sold under the ACTIVA brand name.

ACTIVA Marine Company Ltd….….the builders of these fine craft,
are a Taiwanese company located in China that have a well trained
labour force building luxury Motor Yachts at ultra competitive rates. ACTIVA Marine utilize the latest in marine technology backed by decades of
hard won construction and finishing skills. The overall process is
continually monitored by ACTIVA personnel from Australia and New Zealand
to assure both initial build quality and longer term performance and
maintainability.
There is more custom work in the ACTIVA range of yachts so the
hand-crafted custom feel is very evident, and with more quality than one
see's these days from Western sourced, local and imported production
boats. Kevin and John looked
at many brands of boats to market from many manufacturers in various countries before selecting ACTIVA
Marine in China to build their range of Motor Yachts. The reason most
major companies world wide are producing in China these days is because of
the labour costs. The Chinese learn fast & the Taiwanese boatyards have
been moving their operations across the straight over the past 10 years as
the cost of labour, as well as building and land prices in Taiwan has steadily been rising
to western cost levels.
Chinese and Taiwanese boat building styles are very similar to Australian
custom yards. Hand finishing is excellent in the ACTIVA range and the
boats are built inside the hull and bonded in place with plenty of
strength. All our Motor Yachts are vacuum bagged and resin infused
composite e-glass with solid glass below the water line. Generous amounts
of teak, leather and stainless steel are offered at a price that will
impress the most discerning buyers.
Production boats in Australia have a limited range of styles due to high
tooling investment so the need to find unique designs not currently offered by
Australian builders was of importance. This is seen in the ACTIVA range of Sedan/Flybridge,
Raised Pilothouse and the Legacy range of Motor Yachts.
The criteria for our yacht builder selection was thus: Experience,
Experience, Experience and Quality, Quality, Quality, as well as cost
competitiveness, a range of designs suitable for the Australian and New
Zealand markets, flexibility to customize, integrity
of the builders and a stable financial company. Our Supplier ACTIVA MARINE
